Andrew Wagih beat Jaymie Haycocks 11-8, 11-7, 11-5 in a match between the top two seeds in the final of the Madison Open in Wisconsin, Usa, reports Damon Bourne …
Very good final today. Tight first game with some long points. After going down 5-1 in the first, Jaymie did his best to contain Andrew, but the poor start cost him. He got to 8-10, but couldn’t get any closer.
Better start the second game and it was even 5 all, and 6 all. A few solid points by Wagih, and some errors off Jaymie’s racquet cost the Englishman the second.
Jaymie went up 5-1 in the third, but Andrew stepped it up a gear and ran the table from 2-5 down until the end.
