Wagih takes Wisconsin title

Andrew Wagih beat Jaymie Haycocks 11-8, 11-7, 11-5 in a match between the top two seeds in the final of the Madison Open in Wisconsin, Usa, reports Damon Bourne

Very good final today. Tight first game with some long points. After going down 5-1 in the first, Jaymie did his best to contain Andrew, but the poor start cost him. He got to 8-10, but couldn’t get any closer.

Better start the second game and it was even 5 all, and 6 all. A few solid points by Wagih, and some errors off Jaymie’s racquet cost the Englishman the second.

Jaymie went up 5-1 in the third, but Andrew stepped it up a gear and ran the table from 2-5 down until the end.
