26th April 2014 NATIONAL SQUASH CENTRE MANCHESTER
Tomorrow twenty two Under 11 Junior County Teams will descend on the National Squash Centre in Manchester where they will compete to be crowned County Champions of England in the 2nd Inter County Festival.
Thirteen boys teams and nine girls teams all of 3 players will play in round robin groups and then play offs to decide the eventual winners.
Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, Lancashire, Merseyside, Northumbria, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Yorkshire
The Boys teams are:
Buckinghamshire, Chiltern, Cumbria, Durham & Cleveland, Essex, Gloucestershire, Lancashire, Merseyside, Northumbria, Surrey, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Yorkshire.
There will be a new Champion in the Girl’s category, as inaugural champions and holders Sussex are not able to field a team. Yorkshire will prove hard to beat if they play their top ranked players Ophelia Watson (4), Layla Johnson (9) and Millie O’Toole (16). Not much to choose between the other teams but Warwickshire could be the ones to watch with the Bradley sisters, Amelia and Harriet, ranked 13 & 19 likely to play.
In the Boys event however Gloucestershire may find it touch going to retain their title as favourites could be Essex with the potential to field Oliver Green and Joel Braddock ranked 4 and 6 respectively. They could be pushed by Yorkshire who may have Ben Beachill and Ben Parlour ranked in the top 20 in their side.
Admission to watch these keenly contested and entertaining finals is free.
Start time 09.20. Finals and play-offs from 17.00
