Down to the finals in Waterloo
2014 Xerox University and College Squash Championships at Northfield has been extremely exciting. The ladies open draw has unfolded as predicted. The men’s open draw has seen an unseeded player plow through the seeds. Roman Svec has gotten to the finals against a tough Andrew Schnell.
Svec on his play “Wow, I’m very happy with this result.” Tomorrow will be a very exciting day at Northfield Club. Women’s Open at 12:00 noon and men’s open at 1:00pm.
Day ONE Results:
The 2014 Xerox Canadian University and College Squash Championships got underway on Friday at 4:00pm. Players from across the country made their way to Northfield Racquet and Fitness Club in Waterloo, Ontario.
The upset of the night was in the men’s open division where 4th seed David Baillargeon of Collège de Maisonneuve, Montréal was knocked off by Roman Svec of University of Victoria in a five game battle (9-11, 6-11, 12-10, 11-9).
