Budding sports commentators and squash enthusiasts are being given a unique opportunity to join SquashTV and commentate on live Squash matches in 2014 – thanks to a fantastic new competition.

SquashTV are searching the globe to find budding enthusiasts with a ‘Voice for Squash’ to join SquashTV commentator Joey Barrington in the commentary box during select live action in 2014.

To enter the competition, all any hopeful needs to do is watch the ‘Commentary Competition’ Squash action on SquashTV’s YouTube page and record an MP3 audio recording of their commentary for the duration of the action.

Once any budding commentator has recorded their submission, they then need to email it to along with their name, age and address.

The top 10 submissions will then be released  on January 12th, with fans being invited to vote for who they think should join the Squash TV crew in 2014 with the winners to be announced on February 1.

“We’re very excited to be able to offer fans, sports enthusiasts and budding commentators the opportunity to put their skills to the test and see if they have the ‘Voice for Squash’,” said PSA PR & Communications Manager Nathan Clarke.

“We’re looking for individuals who can paint a picture with their words, who have the poise, composure and delivery necessary to succeed in the commentary box.

“We will be keeping our ears tuned for submissions with detail, accuracy, intelligence and flair and I look forward to listening to all the entries as they come in.”


Terms and conditions:

To enter Squash TV’s ‘Voice for Squash’ you need to:

  • Watch the ‘Commentary Competition’ clip at
  • Record an MP3 audio file of your commentary on the above action
    • You can do this on an Iphone, Dictaphone or any other audio recording device
  • Email your audio file to including your name, age, contact number and postal address.
    • Entries without contact details will not be considered
    • Only one entry per name and email address will be permitted

The closing date for all entries in 5.00pm GMT on January 10 and any submission made after this date will not be considered.

There are three winners prizes up for grabs and each winner will have the chance to commentate on a live match during a PSA World Tour Event in their region during 2014 with details, transportation and logistics to be confirmed directly with the PSA following the conclusion of the competition.

Squash TV reserves the right to publish any submitted audio recording on their Youtube, FaceBook and any other social media channels as part of the ‘Voice for Squash’ campaign.
