It’s four in a row for Egypt

SH_476Today’s final of the WSF World Junior Team Championship at the Hasta La Vista Club in Wroclaw, Poland saw defending champions Egypt – who provided all four individual semi-finalists – collect an unprecedented fourth straight title (and six of the last eight too).  Their opponents, as in the 2011 final, were the USA, the second seeds.

SH_482Habiba Mohamed, just fourteen, got Egypt off to a winning start with a solid win over Reeham Sedky, leaving it to three-time individual champion Nour El Sherbini to wrap up the title for Egypt as she beat Sabrina Sobhy, also in straight games.

Earlier the remaining 14 teams fought out the remaining final positions with Hong Kong claiming third place with two nailbiting 3-2 wins to deny third seeds England a place on the podium.
