Fifth for Fathi in London

PSA $10k London Open, Final:

Karim Ali Fathi (Egy) 3-2 [2] Chris Ryder (Eng) 8/11, 11/8, 11/4, 9/11, 11/6 (90m)

Fathi takes out top seeds to claim London Open title

Unseeded Egyptian Karim Ali Fathi claimed the biggest PSA title of his career as he beat second seed Chris Ryder in a thrilling five-game final – after having beaten top seed Jon Kemp earlier in the event.

Fathi led 2/1 and 7/4 but Ryder clawed his way back to force a decider, to no avail as Fathi, still just 19, took the fifth to claim his fifth PSA title, all of them coming in 2012.

“So happy with that result 🙂 ” tweeted the winner.
