Indian Junior Open – Semi-Finals

The semi finals at the 4th Indian Junior Open held at Indian Squash Academy, Chennai once again witnessed a series of upsets.

In Boys under 19, Kush Kumar will be up against surprised finalist Rishi Tandon.  Yesterday Rishi defeated the second seed Ma Tsz Hei and today convincingly defeated Divij Kadan.

In the Girls Under 19 Anaka Alankamony will play her training partner Aparajitha Balamurukan.  Aparajitha seeded 3/4 defeated second seed Enora Villard in 4 very close games. 

In the Boys under 17,  3/4 seed Vijay Kumar defeated second seed Lau Tsa Kwan from Hong Kong in 4 games.  Madhav Dhingra leading 2-0 was unable to capitalize and went down in 5 games against top seeded Yuen Tsun Hei from Hong Kong. In the Girls Under 17 Harshit Kaur Jawand defeated her higher ranked Hong Kong opponent Chan Ho Ching with convincing straightgame victory to set up the title clash against Lakshya Ragavendran

There was further joy for the local crowd, in the Girls under 11 – 3/4 seed S Samita defeated Avani Nagar from Maharashtra 3-0 and in the Boys under 11, S Navaneeth Prabhu defeated second seed Yash Fadte from Goa in 4 games.
